Faisel Baig has been qualified as a Pharmacist since 1996 and recently took over ownership of the Pharmacy in July 2013. As a result of transfer of ownership new services will shortly be coming to fruition, so check back for details. Very shortly you will be able to order gifts and items exclusive to St Mawes Pharmacy through the website. Until then you can always phone to arrange delivery of gift sets / other similar items exclusively stocked by our selves. We may charge for delivery.
Realising you have a problem with alcohol is the first big step to getting help.
You may need help if:
- you often feel the need to have a drink
- you get into trouble because of your drinking
- other people warn you about how much you're drinking
- you think your drinking is causing you problems
Getting the right support can be crucial to maintaining control in the future. Only relying on family, friends or carers for this often is not enough.
Ask our Pharmacist about what longer term support is available in your area. Self-help or mutual aid groups (groups such as AA or SMART Recovery groups) are accessible in most areas.
We stock a range of cosmetics
Patients will need to first attend for an ear health check. If wax is found you will be asked to apply Olive oil to the affected ear(s) and lay in a horizontal position for 2 minutes. This will need to be done twice a day for a minimum of 3 to 4 days before the procedure.

Every year many hundreds of travellers from the UK catch malaria and in tens of cases it is fatal. Symptoms can start rapidly. The correct anti-malarial medication is essential. We offer a Private Malaria Prevention Service. After a confidential assessment by a trained Pharmacist, the correct anti-malarial medication is supplied and appropriate advice given to the patient.
This is an opportunity for our pharmacist to discuss and review the medicines you are taking to ensure you are using them correctly and getting the maximum benefit. We will explain clearly and simply, without any medical jargon, what they are for and the conditions they treat and identify any possible side effects that you may be experiencing. We will listen to you and any problems you are having with your medicines, provide advice and support and if necessary contact your Doctor to discuss any issues that arise from our conversation.
An MUR can help:
- improve your understanding of the medicines you are taking;
- highlight problematic side effects and propose solutions where appropriate;
- improve adherence
- reduce medicines wastage, usually by helping you only order the medicines you need
Our pharmacist may be able to conduct an MUR over the telephone or for eligible patient
Flu vaccine eligibility 2023-2024:
- All children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2023
- All primary school-aged children (from reception to Year 6)
- Secondary school-aged children (Years 7 to 11)
- Those aged 6 months to under 65 years in clinical risk groups (as defined in the Green Book, Influenza chapter 19)
- Pregnant women
- All those aged 65 years and over
- Those in long-stay residential care homes and other long-stay care facilities where rapid spread is likely to follow introduction of infection and cause high morbidity and mortality (this does not include, for example, prisons, young offender institutions, university halls of residence)
- Carers in receipt of carer's allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
- Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
- Frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer-led occupational Health scheme including those working for:
- a registered residential care or nursing home
- registered domiciliary care providers
- voluntary managed hospice providers
- Those that are employed by those who received Direct Payments (personal budgets) or Personal Health Budgets, such as Personal Assistants
